This is my in-progress Senior Seminar!
Moments is a series of monochromatic portraits rendered in Copic micro-liner markers and black colored pencil that intends to capture the beauty of everyday life. First, a photograph of the subject is taken, after which the contrast is slightly heightened in Photoshop to enhance existing shadows and highlights. From there, it is used as a reference for the drawing, in which there is close attention to line, texture and detail both in part and in whole. The act of drawing has always been a source of introspection and solace for me. I aim to spur a similar intimate and meditative experience in viewers as they examine each drawing.
